Photoillustration
The area of multimedia that I'm most interested in isn't Web Design but Photo Illustration.. I love taking images and adding lighting effects and brush elements to them so they're half artwork half photography. I'm glad I know how to create a website but I definetely won't be pursing a career as a web designer. I want this portfolio to reflect that. So I've started creating some pieces to display here.. I did this one in the library this morning, I used a stock image and some brushes that I downloaded from www.deviantart.com. When I have enough pieces then I'll use them to complete my portfolio page.
PhotoRealism
I also really like PhotoRealism which is the art of creating life-like images in photoshop. I did this smoke interpretation on Sat using some brushes I downloaded..
j-Query
This site is static at the minute.. firstly because I'm creating all my artwork for it at the minute but also because I'm learning J-Query in another module so plan to use my new j-query skills on this site as I learn them.
My Branding
I've been thinking about what Lee was saying in the lecture about personal branding.. he said we could develop our name as The Brand just like he had. I'm in the middle of designing my new portfolio site at the minute so I did this desktop background image to match my site..I think it might print out quite nicely as well as a business card. I also saved it as a 16x16 ico file and created a favicon.
Last week I didn't do any designing cos I was reading up on HTML5.. This week I've been making my new portfolio page, it's one of those things were you only mean to spend an hour or two but before you know it the day's away! Anyway it has to be done because I'm totally fed up of the floral vomit I see before me everytime I update my site..- when I go to sleep at night all I can see if this stupid floral display - OK maybe that's exagerating just a bit but the flowers have to go! I'm going to upload it to my personal domain as www.sandraharrison.co.uk. This is what I've done so far:

This week I've been making my brothers wedding album. I took the photos on the day so now I'm making the wedding album - only thing is it's taking aaaaages... but I don't mind cos I'm really learning as I go along. I'm really enjoying it and guess what there's no coding involved! Here's some of the images I've done:

Registered the domain www.ardvillestud.com for my project (actually did that a while ago).. plus uploaded a holding page. Did this wee business card as well - I used a photo that I took of of one of the ponies and traced the outline in illustrator, so this is actually the head of one of our ponies! For the sketch on the holding page I just used some horse custom shapes in photoshop. The font I used is Harrington becuase I really like the curves of letters and I feel it will be in keeping with the brand. For the logo above I make a sketch then scanned it into illustrator where I was able to tidy it up and convert it into a vector.
Stuff I want to learn...
OMG my head is full of stuff I want to learn, there just isn't enough hours in the day...I'm hoping I'll be able to cover a good lot of these in my project..

Had a wee nosey round iStock photos for some nice new illustrations.. - I love illustrations but I'm not very good at them so always pick up some nice ones here.. I wanted to jazz up my FET blog a bit so I got original vectors then played around with them in illustrator until I was happy with result.

This is my favourite, I think it turned out really well. I did it when they were just released, before I even had one!
